$44K for 44! Fr. Erik’s Bday for SWS
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the Catholic Church’s process for adults who are interested in becoming Catholic or completing their Sacraments of Initiation. OCIA is more than a class—it is a journey of learning, prayer, conversation, and discernment designed to help you grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ and understand the Catholic faith. Whether you are just beginning to ask questions or already feel called to become Catholic, you are welcome to explore the faith with us.
The OCIA journey looks a little different depending on your faith background. Adults who have never been baptized prepare to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist, normally together at the Easter Vigil. Adults who have already been validly baptized as Christians are not baptized again. Instead, they prepare to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church through a Profession of Faith, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist. Baptized Catholics who have not yet received Confirmation or First Communion may also participate in formation to prepare for the sacraments they still need. Because every person’s story is different, we will work with you to determine the appropriate path and preparation for you.
As part of the OCIA journey, participants are invited to attend our Wednesday evening formation nights, where speakers explore the core teachings of the Catholic faith through topics that follow the OCIA journey. Additional resources, opportunities for prayer, conversation, and personal study are provided to help participants continue growing in their understanding of the faith and their relationship with Jesus Christ.
